On Tuesday the Putnam Fd along with the Putnam EMS was dispatched for a reported car vs pedestrian in the price chopper parking lot..Upon Pd arrival and indivdual was located underneath the motorvehicle. Putnam fire used airbags and cribbing to free the indivdual from the from the car.. Lifeflight was requested for a motived scene at Day Kimball Hosptial...

Scotland Fd ladder crashes into tree while enroute to mutual aid fire..

Two Scotland firefighters were injured in a crash while en route to battle a blaze in Hampton Saturday morning.
Chief Daniel Syme, 54, and Deputy Chief Scott Cormier, 34, of the Scotland Volunteer Fire Department suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Fire officials said that the truck slammed into a tree while on its way to house fire. Both Syme and Cormier were pulled to safety and sent to an area hospital.
"They're both home and safe now, that's the No. 1 priority of this department," said Chief Richard Shank of the Hampton Fire Department. "Reports I received was that one of the tires got off on the soft shoulder, and it kind of drew the truck off and hit a tree."
On South Bigelow Road, arriving Hampton firefighters found a vacant home destroyed by flames.
"It's devastation, loss of my life," said homeowner Bruce Chamberlin.
Chamberlin said he had just rented the home to a new tenant.
"The appliances were coming in, carpet went in on Tuesday, he already had some of his clothes moved in already," he said.
Shank said one of the department's trucks is now out of commission.

On Saturday October 25th at 630 a.m. Community Fire Co. was dispatched to a car fire on Wilsonville Road in the area of Lowel Davis Road. Upon arrival of units they found 1 vehicle that was driven into the woods and set a blaze. The fire was found to be in East Thompson's district just over the district line, so notification was made to their officers of the incident. The vehicle was from Massachusettes and the state police are investigation the incident. Units quickly knocked the fire down and returned to service. On Oct 22, 2008 the Attawaugan Fire Dept responded to their first chimney fire of the year.. At approx 2100 hours the Attawaugan Fire Dept was dispatched out for a report of chimney fire on Mason Hill Road.. Upon arrival of the chief fire no fire was visible but alot of hot spots inside.. Interior crews used a thermal imager and a crew laddered the building to located any hot spots. A bag of dry chemical powder was deployed to extinguish any hot spots.. Station 62 was on scene aprox 45 min......

On saturday Oct, 18 2008 the Attawaugan Fire held its 2nd annual chilli cookoff.. It was a great time for everyone. There were three quest judges,, Ray Allen Killingly Fire Marshal, Steve Bousquet owner of Bousquet appliances and Zach from Winy Radio. This years winners were 1st place Sterling Fire Dept, Nicole Rowley, Craig Bein 2nd Place Tom Russel Attawaugan Fire and 3rd Place was Jason Burgess from the Danielson Fire Dept... Sterling Fire also took best presentation..
